Beautiful Umbrella Waterfall is located in Poona village of Sajikot (Haripur) area of Abbottabad, KPK province, Pakistan at a distance of 160 km from Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan.
It is one of the most beautiful and mightiest waterfalls in the region, but un-hygienic behavior by tourists is making it a very dirty place to visit.

From Islamabad to Havelian via the beautiful Hazara Motorway/M-15, you can easily cover a distance of 120 km in about two hours. And from Havelian to Sajikot which is 38 km away and to reach Sajikot you have to travel 40 minutes.
It is a wonderful road and scenic journey that will leave a lasting impression on your heart and mind. You will tell the stories to your friends and relatives while enjoying the beautiful scenery of this journey.
Along the way, mountains with tall trees spread far and wide, white clouds hovering over these mountains, will make your journey beautiful. In the midst of all this, you will see fields and beautiful valleys at the foot of the mountains that will soothe your eyes.

On the way to Sajikot from Havelian comes a small but beautiful blueish water dam called Kayala Dam. Which will make you stop here and ask you to admire its beauty. Beyond the dam, you can also see the famous Sajikot waterfall from the road while traveling to the umbrella waterfall.
Continuing your journey towards Umbrella Falls, you have to travel about three kilometers towards Poona village a little further from Sajikot, from where you will find a down-ward hiking trek of about thirty to forty minutes to Umbrella Falls.
Umbrella waterfall distance
Umbrella waterfall is located in Poona village at a distance of about 80 km from Islamabad that takes a drive of about 2 and a half hours drive to cover the distance via Pir Sohava and Bandi Syedan.
Umbrella waterfall is situated at a distance of about 85 km from Murree that takes 3 hours to cover via Abottabad, Kalabagh, and Nathia Gali road.
If you are traveling from Lahore to Umbrella waterfall, you will have to cover a distance of about 490 km, may take about 7 to 8 hours to complete this distance and reach the destination.
Havelian to umbrella waterfall distance is about 35 km that can be easily covered in 1 and a half hours.
The condition of the umbrella waterfall is depressing now
It used to be a beautiful waterfall, but now there are wrappers, empty bottles, cigarette boxes, shoppers, leftover food, baby pampers full of dirt, broken toys, bottle caps lying in the water.
Tells a painful story and how it feels like the tourists who came here used to throw their rubbish on me, and now the situation is that my beauty is lost somewhere in this pile of rubbish.
There used to be a very beautiful waterfall in the village Pooran of Sajikot called Umbrella waterfalls, which lost its natural beauty due to the dirt, pollution, waste, and filthiness of tourists like us.
It is not a long time since the Admiration of the beauty and charm of this waterfall became popular among tourists. About eighteen to twenty months must have passed since the tourists started coming here.
Twenty months ago, the waterfall was second to none in its beauty and natural beauty, but now there are piles of rubbish, empty wrappers, disposable utensils, plastic bottles on the way in and out. Tourist's muck made umbrella waterfall a garbage dump yard.
The path to this beautiful Umbrella Lake used to look like you were heading for paradise. The lush green track, the rustling of leaves, the tall trees, the birds chirping on these trees, and the sound of water falling from a waterfall in the distance used to enchant the tourists with their magical beauty.
Thirty to thirty-five minutes down the road in this track where man sometimes forgot the way because of the beauty of this place, now the garbage lying here, does not allow the way to get lost. And our garbage made umbrella waterfall the dirtiest tourists place.
It works as your guide to get to the umbrella waterfall, as you can judge that tourists have gone through this track. There used to be a scent of flowers on this track but now it is nauseous to see pampers full of filth of children lying on this track.
Remains of picnics by tourists can also be seen here. The artificially built stove, with its half-burnt wood and the bones lying nearby, is a testament to how much tourists come here for their entertainment.
But I am unable to understand what is the problem of these tourists in bringing back the remnants of these goods if they have no difficulty in bringing all these goods here. Why do they forget that if they have a clean and beautiful place for recreation then other tourists should get the same clean place?
We as a nation have become so degraded that we are not ashamed to spread the stench but if we have to clean up our stench then our ego gets in the way and we feel ashamed to clean up.
Furthermore, we also say bad things to the rulers of different times that there is a lack of facilities for tourists but during tourism, we forget the duties that we have to convey the beauty of this world to the people who come so that they could also enjoy the natural wonders.
Umbrella waterfalls is a very beautiful, natural waterfall. The greenery of the peak, the green bushes hanging on this peak, and the water flowing through them seem to be the real beauty of Umbrella Falls.
But in spite of all this, in the depths of the water falling into the pond below, bottle caps, biscuits, and chips wrappers stuck in the rocks, and piles of dirt everywhere tell the story of our abuse of this beautiful waterfall.
