Islamabad to Swat distance is about 230 kilometers on the motorway. But I suggest you go ahead about 50 kilometers to Malam Jabba, as that place is quite economical to stay as compared to Swat Pakistan. And tourist destinations from Malam Jabba are easy to access. However, the decision is all yours's.
How long does it take to reach Swat from Islamabad?
Your total distance will be 280 kilometers if you go to Malam Jabba. It will take 5 to 6 hours. Take a motorway M1, known as the Islamabad-Peshawar motorway from Islamabad to Col. Sher Khan interchange.
This is the road that connects Hazara and Swat motorway. And a link to M16 motorway which is known as Swat motorway. You will see some tunnels by traveling on them. Islamabad to Swat road condition is very good since Swat motorway got operational here.
I want to suggest here that you should travel in the morning on this motorway otherwise you will lose its scenic views because it is one of the most beautiful motorways in Pakistan. From Chakdara interchange you will go on N95 which is known as Mingora-Kalam road will lead you to Malam Jabba.
While Islamabad to Swat travel you can avail all facilities on these roads as rest areas, mosques, petrol pumps, snack shops, etc.
Swat motorway ends at Chakdara interchange, you can go straight to Swat Valley Kumrat. But as I suggested to you earlier you should take the right and get Mingora-Kalam road N95 a keep your journey going towards Malam Jabba. This road is full of scenic views as well.
Is Swat safe for tourists?
Swat has once again become a tourist destination which was earlier declared unfit for tourism due to deteriorating law and order situation. But in 2007, on the orders of the government of Pakistan, the Pakistan Army deployed its troops to fight the forces that were causing the bad situation here.
And conducted decisive operations against these groups from May 16 to July 15, 2009, since then the situation has changed drastically, and now once again the lights of sightseeing in Swat are at their peak again with their full shine.
According to Swat administration officials, in the year 2021, on the occasion of Eid, more than 250,000 tourists visited Swat and more than 100,000 vehicles entered the Swat Valley. These numbers are enough to show that Swat valley is the safest place for tourists to visit.
Swat River

Swat Kalam Valley
Swat Kalam Valley is famous for its beauty and scenic views all over the world as well as it is known as one of the largest fruit production areas of Pakistan as well. You can see fields and trees full of fruits in season on both sides of the road. Famous fruits are Apple, Pear, and Persimmon.
Mingora Swat Pakistan
By traveling on this road you will reach one of the most beautiful cities of Pakistan Mingore Swat Pakistan. A city with smart, humble, and healthy people. It is one of the biggest cities in the Swat district.
