Khaplu Fort

This fort was built in the 19th century, being used by the king of Khaplu as his residency. This fort is considered to be the best example of wood carving.

It was built with a special design to see Khaplu valley and the great Karakoram mountains from it. The centuries-old artifacts here are a reflection of Gilgit Baltistan's ancient culture and civilization. It is awarded UNESCO Asia Pacific heritage since 2013.


Shikhar Fort
